.NET engineer

Hey, thanks for reading this far!

We're Instaclause, a 20-person Belgian legal tech company helping 900+ accountants generate contracts, reports, leases, and incorporation deeds without needing a law degree. We're based in Ghent and Brazil, growing fast across Benelux and Europe.

Our product turns complex legal logic into ready-to-sign documents in minutes. It works, customers love it, and now we're scaling the platform to match the ambition. That's where you come in.

What this role actually looks like

You'll join a team of 6 (including QA) and work on real features that real customers use every day. Not toy projects. Not internal tooling nobody touches. The actual product.

You'll be guided by experienced engineers who care about your growth — but we'll also give you space to figure things out yourself. We're looking for someone who asks good questions, learns fast, and genuinely wants to get better. If that's you, this is a great place to do it.

Day to day, you'll be:

  • Building backend features in .NET/C# — real functionality, shipped to production, used by 900+ customers
  • Learning the codebase from the inside out — clean architecture,
  • PostgreSQL, Google Cloud. There's a lot to absorb, and we'll help you do it
  • Writing tests as you go — not as an afterthought. We care about quality and we'll teach you to as well
  • Fixing bugs and improving existing flows — a great way to learn how the platform actually works
  • Participating in code reviews — giving and receiving feedback is part of how you grow here
  • Asking questions early — we'd rather you check in than spend a week going in the wrong direction
  • Gradually taking on more ownership — as your confidence and knowledge grow, so does your scope

Who you are

  • Around 3 years of experience with .NET/C# — you've built something with it, you know the basics, and you want to go deeper
  • You're hungry to learn — new patterns, new tools, new domains. You don't wait to be taught; you go looking
  • You write code carefully — you think about edge cases, you read error messages, you don't just copy-paste and hope
  • You're comfortable not knowing everything — and honest about it.
  • We don't expect perfection, we expect curiosity
  • You communicate clearly — you ask specific questions, you flag blockers early, you don't disappear for three days when you're stuck
  • You care about the product, not just the code — you want to understand what you're building and why it matters
  • Fluent in English & Dutch, French is a plus

**Bonus points for: **

  • Any exposure to Angular or TypeScript — full-stack curiosity is welcome
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL or SQL in general Having worked on a SaaS product, even in a minor role Side projects, open source contributions, or anything that shows you build things outside of work

What it's like to work here

We're 20 people. No layers, no politics, no "let me check with my manager's manager." You'll know everyone by name within a week.

This is a real junior role — you'll be supported, mentored, and given room to grow. But it's not a slow-paced environment. We ship regularly, we care about quality, and we'll expect you to keep up. The good news: you'll learn faster here than at most places twice our size.

  • Dedication to go beyond the 9 to 5 mentality, we need everyone to go the extra mile.
  • Real mentorship — senior colleagues who have time for you and care about your development
  • Real features — not internal dashboards that collect dust
  • Hybrid flexibility — office in Ghent + remote. We care about output, not hours in a chair
  • Competitive salary — depending on experience
  • Learning budget — courses, conferences, books. We invest in people who invest in themselves
  • A team that has your back — we're in this together

Our stack

  • Backend: .NET 8 / C# — clean architecture, PostgreSQL, Firebase auth, Google Cloud
  • Frontend: Angular 19 (Nx monorepo, signals, standalone components)
  • AI layer: in active development — Python, LangChain, RAG pipelines, LLMs
  • CI/CD on Google Cloud · Testcontainers for integration tests
